How I Curl My Hair

As a hairstylist, I get asked everyday how I curl my hair. Since it isn't easy to explain that without showing you, I filmed my first IGTV video! Please check it out on my Instagram page. 

I tried to keep the video as short as possible so instead of rambling about the products and tools I used, I decided to tell you about them here! 

Wet Hair Products: 

Amika Bombshell Blow Out Spray- All of the Amika products smell AMAZING! So if for no other reason, I would probably spray this on my hair just so it smells good! But this product actually does have a purpose. It helps add volume and shape to your hair. It also gives you a layer of heat protection, which is super important to keep from damaging your hair! ( You can also spray this on your hair dry!)

Amika The Wizard Multi-Benefit Primer- This one is my FAVE!! It also smells amazing. It will detangle, strengthen and nourish your hair! It will also shorten your blow dry time. I don't know about you but I am so impatient when it comes to blow drying my hair! This product will also help protect your hair from thermal (heat ), environmental and ultra-violet damage. Did you know that sun exposure can damage your hair? You do now! This product is overall my favorite! If you only get one product, get this one!

It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In- I've been using this for YEARS. This product does 10 THINGS! I'm not going to list all 10 of them so click the link and read the description to learn all about it. But I will say that there is a reason I've been using this since high school!!

Blow Dryer- Unfortunately my AMAZING blow dryer is no longer on the market. I have heard great things about the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer but I haven't been able to justify spending the money on it yet. 

Curling Iron- I have used the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium curling iron. I have used this curling for 9 years! Not only is it amazing but it is super affordable! In my video I am using a 1 1/2 inch barrel. This is what I use on a daily basis. If I am going to an event or want my hair to be curlier then I will use a 1 inch barrel. If you have short hair, or your hair does not hold a curl well, then you probably need a 1 inch curling iron. This curling iron comes in multiple sizes so pick whichever you think will work best for you, or send me a message and I will help you decide!

Finishing Products: 

Amika Touchable Hairspray- I love this hairspray because not only does it have the Amika Signature scent but it's also amazing! It will hold your hair well without making it look crunchy and you can easily run your fingers through it!

 Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo- I only use this if my hair needs a quick refresh. I also use this on clients when I need added volume or their hair isn't clean. But GIRL- please wash your hair regularly! Dry shampoo does not work for all hair types. Some people have fine greasy hair and it needs to be washed daily.
