Apple Picking in Oak Glen
This last weekend we went up to Oak Glen for apple picking. I’ve been wanting to go for the past two years and we finally went!
We decided to go to Los Rios Rancho because they had a lot to do and a gorgeous scenery! We loved the corn maze, apple picking, pumpkin patch and the huge lawn they have where you can picnic. But I have to say that our favorite was the corn maze! Juliet absolutely loved looking at and touching the corn husks. In order to exit the maze, you have to find the numbers to a combination for the lock at the exit, which made it extra fun!
We got almost 5 pounds of Granny Smith apples! I made a Gluten-Free Apple crisp out of them and it was absolutely delicious! We had so much fun that I want to go back every year now!
I would definitely recommend Los Rios Rancho if you are looking to do some apple picking! If you are thinking of going, I’d suggest going early because it does get really crowded! If you have a baby or kids, I’d recommend leaving the stroller in the car because it really isn’t easy to push a stroller through the bumpy dirt ground! I also wish I had paid better attention to the weather, we showed up dressed for fall and it must have been in the 80s! Overall we had a blast, but I do wish someone had warned me of those things. If you plan to go this year, don’t wait too long because they will run out! They were fresh out of berries when we were there and I’m not sure how much longer they will have apples. I hope these suggestions help!
