Muppet Babies Birthday Party
My son is turning 3 and all he wants is a Muppet Babies birthday party! Have you seen Muppet Babies? It’s such a cute little TV show and my son has been in love with it all year long! Unfortunately the show was cancelled and now finding anything muppet babies themed is near impossible!! I love to DIY parties so I took on the challenge and I think the party turned out SO cute!!
Muppet Babies is rainbow themed but I decided to just use a few of my son’s favorite colors for the decoration. I think narrowing it down made it look a little less chaotic and also made the party more “boyish” which is what he wanted! I DIYed everything myself, with the help of my husband and some family members!
The photo booth is made with plywood as a backdrop and a fringe banner I made out of tablecloths from Hobby Lobby! I also used this gold arch and this white cover to create the white circle. I bought balloons from the 99 cent store but I have used these balloons from amazon in the past and they were really great quality! I use this to inflate all my balloons two at a time and it saves me so much time!
The clothing rack next to the photo backdrop has superhero capes on it! The clothing rack and hangers were super cheap on Amazon and I figured I will use them for future parties! The superhero capes came in a multipack with super hero masks so I used them as a party favor! The multi-pack was super afforadable and came with cute stickers to add to the capes! In muppet babies they all play super heros all the time and it’s one of my son’s favorite parts of the show so I had to include it!
My husband made this little kids picnic table out of an old door and some extra 4x4’s as legs. I use it at all of my kids parties and it’s so fun for them and their friends to sit together! We used it as a craft table for them to decorate their super hero masks!
I bought the table cloth, pillows and pillow cases off amazon. It’s a bit of an investment to buy it all but if you’re going to use the pillows for multiple parties it is totally worth it! Plus this is WAY cheaper than renting from a party company!
I bought little sticky jewels for the kids to decorate their masks with from the 99 cent store and then I cut up the sheets of jewels so each kid had their own set.
Here is a close up of the photo booth! My MIL hand painted each of the muppet babies characters and they were my favorite part of the party!!
I got colored treat bags from the 99 cent store to use for the pinata and stuffed them with muppet babies stickers from amazon, slinkies, and bubbles that I made my own labels for! This is the label I made. You’re welcome to download it for yourself and change the name!
This is Lincoln in the super hero mask and cape he made! He looked so cute and he was so happy!!
I wanted to order family birthday shirts from Etsy but I honestly wasn’t happy with any of the designs, so I made one myself on Canva. Then I printed it out onto transfer paper and ironed it onto the shirts! I cut out the words on my cricut using iron-on vinyl. This is the colored printer I used to print the design, but honestly I think any color printer will work. This is the Cricut machine I have.
My husband’s aunt makes the most gorgeous cakes and always makes one for our kids parties! We are so lucky to have her because these cake are so time consuming to DIY or expensive to buy!! I found a similar cake to this one that was trolls themed and had her switch up the colors to match the party. Then I bought these lolipops from amazon and the muppet babies characters from amazon.
In the Muppet Babies show, Gonzo turns into Dr. Meanzo and Animal turns into Meanimal- the bad guys. Kermit turns into the Froginizer, Piggie turns into Super Fabulous, and Summer turns into Captain Ice Cube- the good guys. They fight against each other and my son loves to pretend to be the Froginzer! So, of course we had to incorporate this at his party. I had my husband pretend to be Dr. Meanzo and his brother pretended to be Meanimal. They chased the kids around while the kids pretended to be the super heros to defeat them.
For food, I hired a taco guy which was super helpful! I didn’t get any pictures but it was nice because he came with his own set up. I did however make a lot of appetizers and desserts. I love a good charcuterie board and my SIL helped me put this one together! My kids love fruit and veggies so we had those out too. Honestly this food didn’t get eaten so for our next party I will probably just do the taco guy and desserts.
For desserts, we baked chocolate chip cookies from store bought cookie dough. We dipped Oreos and wafers in white dipping chocolate and added cute sprinkles to them! Since I am gluten free, I did some of the chocolate-dipped using the gluten-free Oreos!
Here are my kids loving all the treats and sweets at the party!
I ordered a standard bounce house from a local company that is affordable. I would love to get the more aethetically pleasing bounce houses, but honestly I just can’t justify the price! Also my kids love these non-asethetic ones better!
Here is our family in our matching shirts! The party was honestly SO much work, but it was so worth it! My son was in love with all the decorations. I know that might sound silly for a 3 year old but it’s true. My kids talk about what kind of birthday party they want all year long and they get so excited to see it come together!
If you have any questions about the party feel free to let me know! I also have videos of it posted onto my Instagram and TikTok! I’m working on an in-depth Youtube video, but honestly I am still figuring out how to edit those videos!
Everything I purchased from amazon is linked here for your reference and if I’m missing links to anything let me know and I’ll add them if possible!!
